In case you haven't heard of it, Jane's Walk are neighbourhood walking tours that honour the legacy of urban activist Jane Jacobs. The goal is to instill belonging and encourage civic leadership.
Dad and Oona went on the walk around our neighbourhood in Halifax's North End. We are lucky to live in a great neighbourhood - there are so many different types of people here. Our community has everyone from artists to activists to people whose families have been here for generations.
Dad said Oona had a great time on the walk. She enjoyed looking around and meeting new people. Mom stayed home and had a nap, but will definitely be there next year for Oona's second Jane's Walk.
